Shearers Bookshop in Sydney is getting in a day early with an event on Wednesday March 7 at 7.30 pm. The panel, to be chaired by Kirsten Tranter includes Lenny Bartulin, Emily Maguire, Jane Gleeson-White and Sophie Hamley.
On Thursday March 8 you’ll definitely find us at:
Fullers Bookshop, Tasmania. The panel will be chaired by Rachel Edwards and includes ABC presenter Annie Warbuton, Island Editor Dale Campisi, and author Caitlin Robinson.
The Carrington in Katoomba, from 6-7:30 pm.The panel is Tara Moss, Claire Corbett, Elizabeth Lhuede and that event is also to be chaired by Kirsten Tranter.
During the day we’re popping up all over the place as well:
There will be a schools debate at Federation Square’s BMW Edge at 10 am on ‘Is men’s writing better than women’s?’ Debating teams from Fintona Girls’ School and Camberwell Grammar School will meet on Thursday 8 March to debate the proposition and explore issues of gender difference, bias and representation in literature. The debating teams will be both boys and girls, drawn from Years 10, 11 or 12. The judging panel will be composed of representatives from Fed Ed, Debaters Association Victoria and The Stella Prize.
Melbourne folk can hear Chris Gordon on her Soap Box over lunch at theWheeler Centre.
In Sydney Kirsten Tranter will be talking about The Stella at the Sydney Library.
The Wodonga Library is holding an IWD event but are still finalising the details. I’ll post them when they come to hand.
We’re pleased with the enthusiastic response and suspect there may be more events than we’re aware of. If you also have an event planned please get in touch and tell us about it.
