When a lack of political voice leads to disempowerment, disengagement and disadvantage, personal voices speak up. In this panel, four women offer personal testimony on the politics that affect them. These testimonies will be read live and followed by a panel discussion.

Women in Male Spaces

When making space for female voices in male dominated industries, what challenges do women face? How are they treated differently because of their gender? What ideas would we have missed out on if women weren’t in these spaces? And how can we make the way easier for the women of the future?

Bec Taylor leads participants through the art of songwriting. In this workshop young writers will learn how to craft their words to fit to music. How does that change the writing? Can music be political? Can you still be a songwriter if you’re performance-shy?

Notes

This event will take place in various rooms through the Gorman Arts Centre. Participants should all arrive by 8.45am to attend the first session. Participants will be notified of workshop locations on the day and directed by Stella staff and volunteers.
