The Stellas go viral
On International Women’s Day,Thursday 8 March at 6.30pm, Readings Carlton in Victoria, under the auspice of the Stella Prize, will be hosting a panel discussion on whether women’s writing from different to men’s. There is no right or wrong answer – the provocative question is our way of getting people thinking and talking about the issue, and stimulating debate.
We are inviting every independent bookshop across Australia to host a panel discussion on this topic on the evening of Thursday 8 March, International Women’s Day.
The Stella Prize will promote all these events through a co-ordinated campaign via our website, Twitter and Facebook accounts, as well as a separate media campaign. We are happy to assist with sourcing speakers if needed; there are plenty of talented writers out there who would welcome the opportunity to talk on this topic. This collective event is an opportunity to promote the independent bookselling sector as a hub of community discussion. It will, of course, also draw attention to both International Women’s Day and raising the profile of Australian women’s writing.
We would love to have your bookshop join us on this evening. Together we could be part of a national exchange of ideas and opinions. For more information please refer to our website.
Please send us any blog posts, reviews of the event or photographs. We’ll publish them via our website and social media channels. It’s a great way of teaming to promote your business and our aims. Together, we could garner quite an impact.
If you have any questions and are committed to hosting an event please email our Stella Prize Events Co-ordinator Christine Gordon at thestellaprize@gmail.com.au.
