Stella in 2014
In 2014 the Stella Prize will continue its year-round program of events, which this year included panels and sessions at all the major writers’ festivals, and a number of Stella Prize Lectures. We also plan to establish:
- The Stella Prize mentorship program: to offer 10 emerging women writers the opportunity to be mentored by an established Australian writer, administered through the various state writers’ centres.
- The Stella Prize education program: to offer professional development with teachers and school librarians, and to arrange for women writers to visit schools around the country to inspire students about the long tradition of women’s writing in Australia.
Our long-term goal is an endowment fund to ensure that the Stella Prize is secure forever. To achieve these goals, we need support.
