17/3/16: The Stella Diversity Survey Public Forum
The Stella Prize and Writers Victoria invite members of the writing community to contribute to the upcoming Stella Diversity Survey at this open forum discussion.
This will be an opportunity to help shape the survey by sharing and discussing any thoughts, feedback, concerns or questions.
All are welcome. We are particularly interested in input from writers who identify as belonging to marginalised or minority groups.
This public forum is free, but attendees are requested to register their attendance at the Writers Victoria website. Babies and children are welcome.
Those who are unable to attend can contribute using this online form. All contributions will be taken into account and discussed at the Forum.
About the Stella Diversity Survey
In 2016, the Stella Prize is expanding the scope of its annual Stella Count to include a Diversity Survey. The survey will collect data about the authors who are reviewed in the major Australian newspapers and review journals, and the writers who review them. It will include information about race, disability, non-binary gender identification, and sexual orientation.
Writers will be invited to participate in the Diversity Survey anonymously, and all questions are optional.
Writers will be invited to participate in the Diversity Survey anonymously, and all questions are optional. The information collected will be used to measure the ways in which these elements correlate to the review coverage received by authors from various backgrounds, particularly marginalised groups.
